Provoke&Inspire Podcast

Bi-weekly podcasts featuring Chad Johnson, Luke Greenwood, Ben Pierce and David Pierce as well as other members of the C&L! Community

Luke, David, and Ben discuss an interview with the hip-hop artist, Logic, who expresses his surprise that his suicide presentation song “1-800-273-8255” has made a difference in people’s lives.

They dig into the causes of said surprise, the shortcomings of his solutions, and how Christian artists, of all people, should have a clear message, given that they have the truth.

Plus they give a shout out to Canada

All the regulars are finally back together again! With Luke bringing his diplomatic sensitive side to the conversation and Chad talking for days, what else do you need?

In this episode, they discuss the demise of U2, the effect that fatherlessness is having on our world and how apparently white christians don’t get care about morality.

Think that sounds crazy? Well that’s not all, in David’s random story he tells of the time his band was labeled as a Satanic group in the newspapers.

While Luke is hanging out in Russia, Ben, David and Chad try something new... they bring in the buzzer! For each topic discussed, they have 8 minutes to answer before the buzzer goes off and it’s time to move on. They talk about some difficult subjects, including the excessive consumerism in the USA, whether or not Christians should be casual about alcohol consumption, and the continued downfall of celebrities that are being accused of sexual harassment.

Why is AC/DC in the title you may ask? Well, listen to David’s Random story and you’ll find out!
The regulars are finally all back together! With Billy Graham recently turning 99 years old, they celebrate and discuss the amazing ways God has used him in his ministry and bring up the question of whether or not his model for preaching the Gospel is still effective today. David shares not one but TWO random stories and Ben gives an official salute to our listeners in Chile.
Are some people more privileged in life than others? A recent video has been circling around on social media causing many arguments around the topic of privilege. The regulars, minus Chad who is apparently speaking at some university, tackle this controversial subject and share their thoughts on the matter.

David tells of the time he was mistaken as a homeless man, and they once again talk about Carl Lentz and a recent interview he had on The Ringer NBA Show with Bill Simmons.
Is Yoga evil? Do aliens exist? Steven Bancarz, once one of the biggest New Age bloggers in the world, discusses New Age beliefs, his story and how he encountered Jesus.
Chad’s busy recording his audio book so what do we do? We record a podcast without him. In this episode, Ben, David and Luke look at a recent interview The View did with Carl Lentz (pastor of Hillsong NYC) where he was asked what his stance is on abortion and homosexuality. They discuss his answer, and the importance of pointing to Jesus and God’s love without compromising the truth of the Gospel. There are rants, disagreements and of course David’s Random Story!
With the sexual abuse allegations surrounding Harvey Weinstein, the regulars tackle this sensitive subject, and discuss whether or not the messaging in our movies and music may be a contributing factor worth considering. They talk about how some churches are choosing to go fully digital, with online streaming, and if that can truly be considered "church", as well as the time that David hit a possum in the head with a can of beans.
After an intense discussion with Craig Gross over how you can reach the scene without being influenced by it, the regulars sat down to explain more of their views. Is striving to be holy important? Or is it just being religious? Should we really have standards in our lives? These questions and more are covered in this episode of Provoke&Inspire. But don't worry, it's not all seriousness, there is of course David's Random Story!
Craig Gross is our guest on the podcast, discussing how XXX Church had its start and what God has been doing through his ministry. The conversation heats up, however, when the regulars bring up one of Craig’s recent Facebook posts, and raise the question of how deeply we can immerse ourselves in a scene without being corrupted by it.
